Alejandro Casanova, also known as Ale Casanova, is an artist and art teacher based in Spain. He creates water colour and oil paintings in a contemporary aesthetic focusing on the human figure and portraits.
My work focuses on the human figure and portraits because I am able to find everything necessary to represent normality from the hidden part of the body in them. Light, colour and structure are the axes that underpin my plastic world.
Alejandro Casanova was born in Valencia, Spain in 1981. He studied fine arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia where he was first noted for his brilliant use of academic technique. After completing his undergraduate studies, he continued his training in higher education in Tenerife and graduated with a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) and obtained several research grants.
In 2005, at the age of 24, he held his first solo exhibition in Valencia. After this he has continued to participate in both individual and group projects. Ale has received multiple awards and prizes for his work. Nowadays, Ale exhibits his work both online and offline and offers many educational courses on his water colour and oil painting techniques.
Painting has always been part of Ale’s life. Being born into an artistic family, him and his siblings have painted since they were children, but he was the only one to never give it up and make it his profession.
His work is inspired by current happenings on social networks, forums and the internet in general. The internet is also his main input to sell his works and his lessons on water colour and oil paintings in a contemporary aesthetic.
