Ecoline technique step by step: Mixing Gold with Ecoline

Do you want to get started yourself? Follow these simple steps to give your Ecoline creations a shimmer effect:

Step 1: Choose your base Ecoline colour

Start with a base Ecoline colour that you like. This can be anything, from a fresh blue to a soft pink hue. Add a few drops to a mixing palette. The handy dropper in the jar allows you to dose the Ecoline well.

Step 2: Add the gold Ecoline colour

Gently shake your gold Ecoline by slowly turning it over. Otherwise, bubbles may form. Use a dropper to first add one drop of gold. Even a small drop can transform your base colour into a cool shimmer colour. If you feel the shimmer isn't enough, you can always add more.

Step 3: Mix well

Use a brush to mix the gold Ecoline and the base colour well until you have an even shimmer. Note: Keep mixing until you no longer see any gold colour.

Step 4: Test and adjust

Try a bit of your new colour on paper. If you’re satisfied with the colour and shimmer, you can start working on your project. If not, add a little more gold Ecoline at a time until you reach the desired intensity.

Step 5: Let it dry

Only once your artwork is completely dry will you be able to see the shimmer effect clearly! Play with the light and see what happens.
